I believe that a healthy child starts with a healthy diet.
I like to provide good quality home cooked food for the children on a daily
basis. I am a strong believer in the governments "5-a-day" campaign
and encourage the children to get their 5 a day portions.
I like to think of
meals times as a social event where we can all sit down together and enjoy a
meal and each others company. If at home, I always ensure that everyone is
cleaned up and sat down together at the dining table when we eat. The children
will help to lay the table, prepare the food ( where appropriate ) and tidy up
afterwards so they can feel involved with the whole process.
I try to give the children lots of variety with their food
and encourage them to try different foods from different parts of the world. I
aim get the children involved with food and healthy eating by encouraging them
to help prepare the food when possible.
I like to try and keep structure and routine to the
children’s day so try to aim to give the children meals at the same time.
Breakfast is normally served at approximately 8:30’ish and lunch at
approximately 12:30. An evening meal can also be provided but that would be
served based on the individual’s request.
Healthy snacks, fruit juice, milk and water are provided
during the course of the day.
Babies’ food and formulas will not be provided but can be
brought in by the parents as and when required. I will look to accommodate all
requests with regards to meal times and all specific dietary requirements need
to be identified in advance.
The food I like to serve is seasonal but an idea of the
