Safety
|
The health and safety are the primary concerns when any child is in my care. It is vital that the parents are comfortable
leaving their child with me and important that the child feels safe and secure in its environment.
My home has been child proofed inline with OFSTED rules and regulations. The following precautions have been put in to
place to remove or minimize possible hazards at home :
All electic sockets have been covered with safety caps
Gates are in place on the top and bottom of the stairs on both floors
Children will not be allowed in to the kitchen when there is hot food or drinks being made/prepared
All draws and cupboards in the kitchen have safety locks attached
All sharpe objects around the home are kept out of reach of children
A fire blanket and extinguisher is kept next to the kitchen at all times
Smoke alarms are active and tested regularly
A complete first aid box is available at all times
We have all the appropriate legal and public liability insurance cover as well as being fully Ofsted inspected with both
my husband and I having enhanced criminal records bureau disclosure's.

Health
|
As with Safety, children’s health is also vitally important. We do hold and keep an up-to-date fully stocked first aid
kit but we will contact the parent before we administer any form of medicine or health care unless otherwise informed.
We also ask to be pre-warned in advance of any medical conditions or allergies that the child may have so that we are
able to accommodate them accordingly. She a child require daily or regular medicine the parent will be asked to sign
a consent form confirming the specifics of the medication to be taken.
A healthly and balanced diet is also key in the growth of young people. We will provide children with as much fruit
and fruit juice during the day as they wish. Children will also be provided with a home cooked healthy meal at lunch
times. More info about our Nutrition policy can be found clicking here.
